The group project explored how designers can contribute to transforming public spaces into areas that foster non-commercial play and socialization. The task challenged us to think critically about how design can improve community well-being and create inclusive environments.
Our chosen focus was on urban dogs and their mental health, addressing the problem statement "How can we improve the mental health of city dogs?". To tackle this, we developed an app designed to facilitate social interactions among dogs and their owners. The app aims to connect dog owners in the city, helping their pets meet and socialize while also encouraging community building among humans. This approach not only benefits the dogs, but also strengthens the bond between owners and their furry companions while utilizing public spaces more efficiently.
